How Do You Think About Sound?

Think to yourself for a moment. When you listen to a song, what do you listen to? What do you focus on when you’re listening? Is it the lyrics, the music? What about the sound quality? Do you care when something sounds good or bad? How bad does something have to sound before it irritates you enough to say something? Can you remember the worst thing you’ve ever heard? Can you remember the best thing you’ve ever heard? What about when you are watching a T.V. show, watching a movie, listening to a podcast, or attending a concert? Do you pay attention to the sound quality at all? Can you clearly hear what the actors are saying? Is the music pleasing to listen to? These are the types of things that a sound engineer thinks about.
